DescriptionThe KIHD is a population-based, prospective cohort study primarily designed to investigate risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and related outcomes in middle-aged men from Eastern Finland. A total of 2682 participants living in Kuopio and its rural communities were enrolled in the baseline examinations between March 1984 and December 1989.
